It’s the Holy Spirit Novena for Pentecost!
Novenas are an ancient tradition that goes back to the days of the Apostles.
Jesus told His disciples to pray together after His ascension into heaven, so they went to an upper room along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, (Acts 1:14) and joined constantly in prayer for nine days.
These nine days of constant prayer by the Apostles at the direction of Jesus led up to Pentecost. This is when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples as “tongues of fire” (Acts 2:1-4). This pattern of 9 days of prayer, leading up to a feast day or final day, is the basis of the novenas we pray today!
Thus, the novena is an imitation of the Lord’s command to the Apostles when they prayed for 9 days in anticipation of the coming of the Holy Spirit.
And that’s why we pray all of our novenas for nine days, followed by one final prayer on the 10th day (which is usually the feast day).
he Holy Spirit plays a BIG part in our lives.
So, as we pray, ask the Holy Spirit for something concrete and measurable.

That our bishops may be holy men and that our local Synod may bear much fruit through an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
I pray that my son will be released from jail this coming week and that his charges will be dropped. Thanks be to God for You, the Third Person in the Holy Trinity!
Please help me to gain momentum in my difficult efforts to change my sleep pattern back to what it should be for me – asleep at night and awake during the day so as to be able to accomplish things that can only be done during the day time, otherwise known as “business hours.” I am very grateful for the progress I have made with regard to getting longer periods of restful sleep and not sabotaging my sleep by falling asleep on the sofa sitting up while watching television, as I had become prone to doing for several years. That has been the first hurdle, but I now stay awake late and sleep till noon to get my 6 – 8 hours of restful sleep. The ultimate goal of 8 hours of sleep from midnight till 8 a.m. still eludes me because I am a night owl. But with your help, Holy Spirit, I pray to be able to get up early and get out the door to take care of important matters! It is disabling not to be able to make a morning appointment when that the only appointment time available because I cannot go without the sleep I need, and which I am now committed to getting. Necessary car repairs and doctor appts are being delayed because I can’t wake up at 7 a.m. if I go to bed at 3 a.m.! Please see in the depths of my heart that I want to do better!!! Others think it is a matter of willpower, but for me it a matter of asking for help to overcome these incredibly ingrained patterns. Come Holy Spirit Come! In Jesus’ Name, I call what is not yet seen as seen. Amen.

I have a few prayer requests:
1. prayer to get closer to God as I am failing in my faith and prayer life due to stressful situations.
2. Healing for my mum Dinah who has a back problem that is giving her intense pain and the painkillers wont work. That God may heal her completely through the surgery she is about to undergo to solve the issue
3.I am heavily indebted and not sure how to proceed from the current situation i am in. I have rent arrears, fees arrears for the kids and in so much debt, That God may give me providence and enable me to get out f this situation.
4. That my child, may concentrate on his studies and know God more. He ha started going in the wrong direction and has become very rude. I pray that God may touch him and that he may reinvent and reallign his thoughts towards the word of God as opposed to worldly things

I ask that you keep me strong, healthy, safe with great determination, perseverance and courage to follow through my endeavour for this business. I want to do this to Glorify you Lord with the talents you have given me and for nobody else.
I ask that you keep me safe Lord from all my enemies that only want me to fail and mock me in the process. My life has been an uphill for me.
Especially I haven’t had a great family who have supported me. But now I have only you to please Oh Lord.
I ask that my son Giuliano and kids are well protected from the evil flattery and Brainwashing of his Inlaws who have tried so hard to put a wedge between him and I and his brother. Who I raised to be great men of loving nature.
Wash away all Brainwashing from his head. Bring him back in unity with us and heal any past hurts. Praying to you oh Lord about this matter only made me stronger. These people who are not of God don’t like it.
I ask Adriano to flourish in life for he is a late grower from the past abusive relationship his father had with him.
Help him to focus on his work as he gets distracted so easily. Any enemies that come his way to use and abuse his beautiful character take care of them oh Lord. Only bring beautiful people into his life and mine who will support us.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will come upon each of my 4 adult Sons & they’re Father & my Husband , they all need the Spirit of forgiveness , & Love for each other & Peace amongst all of them in a division with 1 of the sons/ Brothers that has kept them divided in business & family togetherness .for the past 4 years & truly for many years. I have prayed like St Monica for the son & his brothers for many years & I pray that this Novena of the Holy Spirt will Bless each of them & me & they’re Father on this Pentecost Of 2022
