It’s the Holy Spirit Novena for Pentecost!
Novenas are an ancient tradition that goes back to the days of the Apostles.
Jesus told His disciples to pray together after His ascension into heaven, so they went to an upper room along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, (Acts 1:14) and joined constantly in prayer for nine days.
These nine days of constant prayer by the Apostles at the direction of Jesus led up to Pentecost. This is when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples as “tongues of fire” (Acts 2:1-4). This pattern of 9 days of prayer, leading up to a feast day or final day, is the basis of the novenas we pray today!
Thus, the novena is an imitation of the Lord’s command to the Apostles when they prayed for 9 days in anticipation of the coming of the Holy Spirit.
And that’s why we pray all of our novenas for nine days, followed by one final prayer on the 10th day (which is usually the feast day).
he Holy Spirit plays a BIG part in our lives.
So, as we pray, ask the Holy Spirit for something concrete and measurable.

Help us with a sure voice of reason Holy Spirit, show up the wicked intentions of others so things can get back to where they were in a deeper more meaningful committed manner, starting with my Spouse, his self management, anger, when commanding any respect help him to direct it where healthy boundaries need to be, show him your love and help him work through his shortcomings and entitlement so we can thrive experiencing goodness and wholesomeness together. Help him to be aware and take notice and to make sure he knows what he’s doing, own up to his choices and see the repercussions knowing and understanding how to listen fully and respect my feelings first and foremost as his responsibility and for our sanity. Help him to Cleve to me and become one instead of running to his Mother and that conditioned behavior. It’s too many players, teaching the opposite of goodness and wholesomeness, too many demands and too many deceiving motives, help him to get a handle on life. Show him where he can make a positive difference within our union, and that his role to us and responsibilities to us do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Keep us safe and healthy. May our year only get brighter and better together and our travels be peaceful and beautiful. I pray for everyone in my family, myself and all our future generations until the end of time.
May God abundantly bless each one of us, help us fulfill each of our life purposes, and protect us from all evil, attacks, dangers, temptation, also answer all our good prayers, fulfill all our needs and good wishes and desires, help each one of us to always feel, know and acknowledge God Being fully and actively present in each of our lives every moment of our day every day of our lives, and at the end of our lives bring us to His Heavenly Kingdom, through His grace, love and favor.
May God have mercy and take all the departed family members, relatives, friends, and all people into His Heavenly Kingdom.
