The next novena we’re going to pray as a community is one of our favorites, it’s the St. Therese of Lisieux Novena!
Pope Pius X called St. Therese “the greatest saint of modern times.” She’s well known for her “little way” spirituality of doing small, ordinary things with extraordinary love. She wrote in her autobiography, “What matters in life is not great deeds, but great love.”
We will start praying this novena on Wednesday, September 22nd. You can share your prayer intentions with us all below in the comments!
St. Therese suffered a great deal in her life. She lost her mom when she was a young girl. One of her older sisters became like a second mother to her, and St. Therese missed her when her sister entered a convent. St. Therese also suffered from chronic illness and depression. Through it all, she continued to look towards Jesus.
She’s a great example for all of us — a reminder to cling to Jesus through whatever each of us may be going through right now. Let’s look to Jesus!

St Therese, it is my prayer that you will touch with your healing power my daughter shan that she will be restored to full health in mind and body, mend what is broken, cast out anything that should not be with her, remove any inflammation, rebuild any damaged areas. Let your healing love and the power of the holy spirit be with her. Whatever disappointments, troubles, stress that she goes through this time, all will pass and she will live a normal life in the presence of the Lord. I pray that whatever her plans/ desires in life, she will be able to accomplish. Never forsake her, lead her to the right path.
I humbly pray also to heal my officemates , jos, utilities, their families, who were contracted with covid, those under isolation/quarantine. For us not yet vaccinated, protect us always, and when the right time comes, i am praying that the vaccine to be injected to us will be safe and no untoward reactions will affect us. ALl of our cars are broken and now we are using a rental.. Car repairs are depleting our finances. Now the most reliable car is acting up. There is a recall and it is still under warranty. We have called the dealership and they are giving us the run around. We have to take it in tomorrow. Please show us favor and pray that it is not a lot to fix it with rent due on the 3rd. We are praying for a miracle in our finances. Also my car need a motor.. they fixed it and changed the plugs and it hasn’t run the same since. I am submitting requests rather late in the novena, but have been praying for the following everyday:
For my daughter in law school; the studies and class set-up have been difficult. Her peers have been competitive, tough, and not always nice. First and foremost, I pray for her to have an abundance of God’s intellect so as to understand and apply her knowledge. She so desires to be respected and recognized… I pray for her to be known for grace, eloquence, and wisdom. May the Lord, who guided her to law school, be ever close and present to her. May she abound in healthy, self-love and God-confidence. Lord, pour forth your favor on our girl… and allow her to do great things in your name.
For my son in college; he works so hard to be recognized in his sport, in his studies, and socially. I am proud of his work ethic and the grit he has shown all of his life. Lord, as he is an upperclassman now, I pray so wholeheartedly for his internship/ future job offer. He has been trying very hard and we know that all things are possible with you, God. Please, may the Lord hav mercy on him and open the perfect doors for him in all areas of life, but especially for his future job.
Neither of my kids have ever enjoyed close friends or even a girlfriend or boyfriend. They do not wish to be loners, but for some reason, they never end up meeting good people. I pray for wonderful friendships and even romantic relationships that are God-centered and fortifying for them.
For my husband; he is at the tail end of a wonderful and blessed career. Thank you, Jesus, for the job security and the honor. Please continue to bless him as he wraps up in the next two years. May he enjoy sound mind, body, and judgment all of his days (as well as all of mine) … may we enjoy a retirement golden age period of life together. Continue to shield our family from tragedy and protect us in your tender care. Show us the way … how best to use our blessings in the years to come.
