We’re excited to announce that the next novena we’re praying is the original novena!
Novenas are an ancient tradition that goes back to the days of the Apostles.
Jesus told His disciples to pray together after His ascension into heaven, so they went to an upper room along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, (Acts 1:14) and joined constantly in prayer for nine days.
These nine days of constant prayer by the Apostles at the direction of Jesus led up to Pentecost. This is when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples as “tongues of fire” (Acts 2:1-4). This pattern of 9 days of prayer is the basis of the novenas we pray today!
Thus, the novena is an imitation of the Lord’s command to the Apostles when they prayed for 9 days in anticipation of the coming of the Holy Spirit.
And that’s why we pray all of our novenas for nine days, followed by one final prayer on the 10th day (which is usually the feast day).
So maybe you can guess by now that the next novena we’re praying is The Novena to the Holy Spirit for Pentecost!
The Holy Spirit plays a BIG part in our lives.
So, as we pray, ask the Holy Spirit for something concrete and measurable.

Dear Lord I pray I get the job applied for as Instructional Monitor 1 at the elementary school. Please I pray I get a call tomorrow for an interview. I pray for strength and success for my son who is trying to quit alcohol and rebuild his marriage. I pray the check goes through the bank tonight that I sent CKMS and I get copy of the release by Monday.

I started praying the Holy Spirit Novena. A friend who is blind is trying to sell her home but hasn’t sold yet. She also has no more money to pay her mortgage and was weighed down as was i. The next step would have been foreclosure. I prayed and on day 5 of this Novena she heard from bank they were granting her a 3 month forbearance. It was a miracle as the day before a bank representative refused. Thank you Holy Spirit for helping my disabled friend. She trusts in God and God came to her aid. Now she just has to sell her home.

Pray for my son Sydney. He is addicted to drugs. He is very rude to me at the society. His actions are not God friendly. He always tells lies and is never available to give a hand in any responsibility given. At 25 years he never bother to look for any job.
His daily chore is o sleep, eat and move around the estate , mingle with bad company and back to bed.
Am a single lady straining to make end needs but the boy never bother with that.
I was refereed to a rehab centre in Nairobi but have failed raised KES 160,000 that can cater for three months.
Pray for me to raise that amount so that I can take him to that centre. Pray for Sydney to change his bad life style . May he put God first in his life. His life style is terrible. I mean terrible. I cry day and nite. He boxed me quite a number of times until neigbhours beat him up and warned him for the last time because they realized he was a nuisance. Pray for too. God bless you for the good work you are doing.

O Holy Spirit, the world is so un kind. Put kindness in people’s hearts so that all people and animals will be treated kindly. Stop the suffering at the hands of the unkind.
May my daughters be kinder to their children and may the children, in turn, be kinder.
May all children , the aged, and all animals never suffer again at the hands of the unkind. Come Holy Spirit!
