We’re excited to announce that the next novena we’re praying is the original novena!
Novenas are an ancient tradition that goes back to the days of the Apostles.
Jesus told His disciples to pray together after His ascension into heaven, so they went to an upper room along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, (Acts 1:14) and joined constantly in prayer for nine days.
These nine days of constant prayer by the Apostles at the direction of Jesus led up to Pentecost. This is when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples as “tongues of fire” (Acts 2:1-4). This pattern of 9 days of prayer is the basis of the novenas we pray today!
Thus, the novena is an imitation of the Lord’s command to the Apostles when they prayed for 9 days in anticipation of the coming of the Holy Spirit.
And that’s why we pray all of our novenas for nine days, followed by one final prayer on the 10th day (which is usually the feast day).
So maybe you can guess by now that the next novena we’re praying is The Novena to the Holy Spirit for Pentecost!
The Holy Spirit plays a BIG part in our lives.
So, as we pray, ask the Holy Spirit for something concrete and measurable.

Dear Holy Spirit, so many people are so impatient, especially the vulnerable. Countless children, spouses older generations and animals are verbally and physically abused because people are so impatient. Holy Spirit, please put the virtue of patience in all the hearts of men and women. May they grow in love because of it’s great power and may people and animals benefit from their conversion. The Holy Spirit, I pray for all prayers here with all of their concerns, problems, sufferings, wishes and so on. I pray for all the people who are suffering from Covid at any form. Please also help my job wish to be fulfilled, a good part time job at a good, warm-heart boss AF and MF to me, all co-workers and partners nice to me and vice versa, a healthy good working environment at CAV, well paid for me to cover my life with my children, meanwhile I still can care for my children when they are back from school and supporting them in learning, accompanying them, I receive good support from boss, their family, their kids and I can work well there smoothly with a good and long term future. I will be recruited by them successfully and they really appreciate me. I have a good health to do the job and not so tired for me due to so many physical work I have to cover, please give me a miracle doing such work without any problems. I can well arrange my daughter when I go out for work without any problems, and my daughter is always safe, happy, positive thinking and healthy. I receive support from my friends when I need their help with regard to my daughter and they protect my daughter like I do for her. Please also help that would be a good deal in all aspects for me. My husband begins to appreciate me, helps me with the defects at home and my car, takes care of my financial situation, recognizes me and protect me as his wife.

I’m getting married on the 21st. My future mother in-law is home with hospice. The family has all said that we should continue with the wedding as planned, it is what she would want us to do. I know that everything is in God’s hands and that I have to trust in His perfect will. But I am praying that He does not call her home on our wedding day. I know that sounds completely selfish but that is my prayer.

My daughter was subjected to extreme bullying in high school that has taken her years to recover from, and it has scarred my heart as well. She’s a wonderful person and I pray that she will have a happy life. For my son, I am worried that he is going down the wrong path and is dabbling with drugs and alcohol.
