Many faithful people look at politics and the election process and they think to themselves, “What’s the point?! It’s a lost cause.”
I know I’ve felt this way before! But, at the same time, our faith calls us to prayer and action in the public square. So, who better to intercede on behalf of the election than St. Jude: Patron of Lost Causes!

We will be praying our regular St. Jude Novena with some small changes and with the addition of the following election prayer:
Election Prayer
O St. Jude, please bring these election prayers to the throne of God:
I ask for the eyes to see others as sons and daughters of God. I ask for help in forming my conscience according to the Gospel so that I may both vote and act for the common good.
Give me the courage to stand up for the weakest members of society. The poor, the weak, the unborn. Give me the courage to re-examine my political loyalties and to be first a faithful follower of Jesus before I follow.
Remind me that my only true hope is in Jesus and that political power can never replace the the will of God and the mission of the Church.
For my own vote, help me to cast it in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. Help me to do it reverently and with a well formed conscience.
For these elections, Oh God, please bless us with the best leaders possible at all levels of government.
My vote is a small but important part of my Christian life. Help me to both vote and live by the Gospel putting my trust in Jesus alone.

Please give special consideration to my son Eric in Brooklyn. He is facing both the Sandy storm and the results of a CT-Scan of his colon done last week. Give the family peace that his ailment will be healed within your mercy.

Like so many Americans, I pray for a peaceful, just and blessed outcome in the upcoming Presidential elections.
I also pray that after two years of searching, that I will be blessed this fall with a wonderful and generous job offer from an organization (foundation, nonprofit, private or public agency) where I will find complete fulfillment in my career by doing work that is inspiring, creative, interesting and makes a positive impact on behalf of the common good. I pray that this next big step in my career will come very soon so I can once again be joyful and fulfilled in my career, which will spill over into every aspect of my life. I pray for my two older sisters who are also looking for good jobs, that they too will be blessed this fall with job offers and financial security. I pray for my dad that he will be able to retire this year with abundance, prosperity and good health. I pray that my mom’s health will stabilize and that she and dad will live their sunset years in peace surrounded by loving family and friends.

I would like to thank the Lord and St. Jude for the many blessings you have bestowed upon me. I would like to pray for the best canidate to win the election. I would also like to pray for all whom are effected by hurricane Sandy. I pray for my grandma whose dealing with cancer that she will not suffer too long. I pray for my daughter that you send wise and understanding angels over her to help her pass all of her courses this semester with A’s and B’s. I also pray to you, St. Jude, that may you help me pass my examination to get my CGI certification. I also pray that you will hear and pray the other prayers that I say to you daily. First and foremost, I ask your intercession for our country that we may value innocent human life above all else and vote accordingly. Also, as I am getting older, and it is more difficult, please intercede that my husband and I may conceive a child but only of it is God’s will. I am asking prayers for my oldest son who is in the process of enlisting in the military. That The Lord guides him in his choice and job he is enlisting for. And to help him with his questions and situations preparing for it.
May we overturn Roe v. Wade in our generation. And may Christians rise up to receive the babies into their hearts and homes.
For conversion back to the Catholic church of family members; for continued sobriety, for those in our family to have more peace and trust in God and less anxiety about things; for all of our family to live to love and serve God and to always seek His will; for financial and job security, especially for those people who need jobs or better jobs to find them; for us to show other people how much God loves them by the example that we give, and the presence of God in our lives.

For a 25 year old medical assistant who is quitting her job because of how some things being done in the office.
For two of my daughters who are dealing with complications from bronchitis.
For my 14 year old daughter who has had severe chronic knee pain for two and a half years.
For my daughter and her fiance who will be married this summer.
For yet another daughter and her husband who are raising 4 small children.
For all those struggling with alcoholism and other addictions that destroy not just the person, but their families because of these addictions. Praying that the Holy Spirit will send strength and courage to them to invite Jesus into their hearts for personal healing and healing within their families… and give strength, compassion, and the love and mercy of Christ to all family members hearts, who are deeply affected and hurt by these addictions, too.
For all Christian hearts to realize what it really means to be a Christian… to offer prayers, love, forgiveness and compassion when others are going through such terrible struggles, realizing there is always an underlying pain/hurt that causes such behaviors. Praying that many who are struggling with addictions will have their eyes, heart and mind open to seek the help they truly need.
Also, praying for all those who are ill or dying… and for their family members too.

St. Jude please remember my daugther Ali as she takes her PTA exams tomorrow Oct. 30. Help her to lose her anxiety and self doubt so that she can do her best. Please help her to find a new job. Through Jesus name we thank you. Thank you too St. Jude for all of your answers to prayers in the past.

For My husband to find a job that is fufilling and closer to home, for my son, who was diagnosed with a pain condition, help him remain strong and get positive and take care of himself, help him with his grades and finding good friends, help my daughter at college, keep her safe during this hurricane and during her schoolwork. Release any anxiety and self doubt. Please help me with my physical problems and how to deal and accept them, and be on the right medicine and with the right doctors. Help me to not be discouraged and depressed, and give me the energy to do God’s Will and be a good wife and mom. For my parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and my enemies, that they will be safe and have conversion. Pray for John and his new wife and this website and all on it. Dear St. Jude, please help me stay positive and strong while I wait for my host family to choose me. Help me to obtain my dream, so I can discover my passion and vocation. I need guidance to figure out the path I am meant to take in life. I am very lost. Pray for my dad, Nonni, brother, sister, friend’s grandmother, friend, work colleague trying to find a second job, and my future host family. Also, especially for the outcome of this crucial election, that other Americans may have a change of heart to realize we must: protect life, preserve marriage, and restore religious liberty. Amen.
Let us pray for my children and grandchildren, that they grow to know and serve God and , in general, pray for the salvation of more and more souls. After all, our national election is a mere symptom of the current secular trend in the world today – the Culture of Death and the persecution of Christians.
Let us also pray for all souls who are in the path of the storm bearing down on the east coast. The purchasers of our home must first close on the sale of their home that is in the path of the storm.
Please pray that Mr. Mitt Romney wins the election for the United States. And that I am lead to my future spouse and I get a better paying job because I am underemployed.

I have so much to ask for, and I turn to you in confidence:
Please intercede for us as a people and our nation, that we understand the issues at stake during this upcoming election, and that we choose candidates who will uphold religious freedom and the dignity of life.
Please also intercede for the safety of those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
I also ask for the continued good health of my family and friends, especially those that have recently experienced serious health issues, and for the complete recovery of those who are currently sick and undergoing treatment, especially Aunt Mary and Wendy. Please also bring healing, peace and comfort to Nicole’s dad and his family during this difficult time.
And finally, I ask that my cousin and her husband may find a way to salvage their troubled marriage.

I have been praying many novenas with John paul. I have to say that God is great. Since I joined praying these novenas with other faithfuls, I have seen the hand of God in action in my life. There was a point in my life things were all scattered and in a mess. But by the special grace of God, I have watched and seen how good our good God is. I prayed the last Saint Jude’s novena, and yet again in just a couple of days I can see and feel God in action again. I know that this novena prayers will also be answered soon. Dear St. Jude Thaddeus, I thank God for your many intercessions in the past years for those I love and also for myself. I am praying that the Lord may take pity on me and improve my financial position, Intercede for me for a companion which now seems impossible after so many years of prayer. I sincerely ask for the intercession of St. Jude to bless my marriage with children.
For the conversion of my uncle back to the faith, a clear plan of God’s will in my life, and foe God’s will to manifest in the lives of my siblings.
