The next novena we’re praying is the original novena! It’s the Holy Spirit Novena for Pentecost!
Novenas are an ancient tradition that goes back to the days of the Apostles.
Jesus told His disciples to pray together after His ascension into heaven, so they went to an upper room along with the Blessed Mother (Acts 1:14) and joined constantly in prayer for nine days.
These nine days of constant prayer by the Apostles at the direction of Jesus led up to Pentecost. This is when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples as “tongues of fire” (Acts 2:1-4). This pattern of 9 days of prayer, leading up to a feast day or final day, is the basis of the novenas we pray today!
Thus, the novena is an imitation of the Lord’s command to the Apostles when they prayed for 9 days in anticipation of the coming of the Holy Spirit.
And that’s why we pray all of our novenas for nine days, followed by one final prayer on the 10th day (which is usually the feast day).

Prayer Request
I am a single mom with a teenage son who needs his own car and insurance to drive to his activities. The insurance on my car is extremely high to add him, so we are looking for a well-maintained older model, like a Toyota Camry or Nissan, that we can afford without going into debt. I worry that I am holding him back and want to provide more support for both him and myself.
My son dreams of starting his own clothing line, which he designs himself, but we face financial challenges. Everything is so expensive, and we need opportunities to become more self-sufficient. We also need social media help like a college intern to help us set up as we are both not social media savvy.
I am also seeking companionship and love. I recently reconnected with my soulmate, Ronald but it is a long-distance relationship, and he has his own issues. He has not been consistent in communication or his love life needs, and I need clarity. I feel something is wrong as he struggles to overcome his adversities, and I pray he finds the strength to be honest and share what he is going through so I can support him better.
I pray for love, financial freedom, and success for my son in his academics and basketball. I pray and claim that he wins all the scholarships we apply for to help with college expenses. I pray for our virgin Mary to untie all the knots that is blocking my path, I pray for happiness and many many blessings, good health and love.
I wholeheartedly pray for the success, health and peace for my daughter as she goes into her final year of ball. Please allow her to know her strength and let her be kind to herself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I pray to find favour in the sight of my employers, clients and colleagues to the glory of God. For my husbands successful exam in June, GMC registration and a sponsorship job with tier2 UK Visa for my family and us being his dependants. Most holy Spirit, I am praying for a change of heart for a 12 year old. He is going down the wrong path by his family, and the cycle of addiction and lack of motivation and bad a attitude. I’m praying that he will see the truth and choose the right path with godly friendships.
Most Holy Spirit, I pray for my adult son Steven. I pray for him to have self control over his emotions….his anger, spitefullness, volatile temper. I pray he will be released from the grips of depression, anxiety and PTSD that he consistently endures. Holy Spirit, I ask you to help him with his driver’s license situation. I pray he will get it reinstated. He is so close, but he keeps experiencing setbacks. He has done everything required, but there is a hold on his PA one. He moved to NC but PA just keeping asking for more proof of residency. He has made some serious mistakes in his young life and can’t seem to get out of this dark spot. I pray he will get his license soon in a timely manner so he can then find sustainable employment . I don’t know how to help him. All I can do for him at this point is to pray.You have answered previous prayers intentions and now I beg Yiu to answer this one. My biggest one yet. Please wrap your wings around Steven and allow him to get his driver’s license reinstated without the need for an intoxalock and that he will be able to register the truck in NC. If this is God’s will for him.

I started this novena yesterday and one of the intentions had been for my tongs gandson, who was scheduled for surgery this coming Tuesday for tonsil/adenoid removal. Unfortunately, his dad (my son) came down with covid and started showing signs yesterday morning. So now it looks like the surgery will be postponed to the end of July, as currently there’s nothing available beforehand. So now I pray that my son will have a mild Covid case and that it won’t be passed on to my grandson or d-i-l. And that my foot will heal quickly; I sprained my ankle pretty badly 2 days ago and fell as a result, and I’m currently on bed rest. I accept God’s will, whatever it brings, and offer my constant anxiety and current pain for the salvation of souls. Amen.
Father God please heal me on my right side foot, head and make me whole.
Heal my son from mental, addiction and depression. Please give us a miracle.

Praying for my cousin who went missing in January and has not been found
I am starting this Novena today. It is in thanksgiving for my answered prayers re my granddaughter’s entrance into a Catholic high school. She did not get into one, but she was just accepted into a Christian school, where even there it was looking iffy. Thanks to my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, along with the intercession of the Blessed Mother and of the Saints that I’ve been praying to for months, that this prayer was finally answered. Though it was not what we had originally wanted, we accept God’s will and don’t pretend to question His wisdom in this outcome. I would also like to now pray for my youngest grandson; he is scheduled for this coming Tuesday for removal of his adenoids and tonsils. He is 4 years old and has had constant health issues since he was born. We are hoping that this will greatly improve the quality of his life and thus that of his parents as well, and pray for a successful outcome and quick recovery, and as painless healing as possible, according to God’s will. Through Christ our Lord, Amen. Also for all those reciting this Novena, that their prayers be answered according to God’s will. Amen.
