  1. John Paul II didn’t tell us :Love your neighbor” He showed us. He is a man who loved
everyone all the time. The pain he suffered in his lifetime was great but his Love for man
was even greater. I am proud to be of Polish descent and to have had the honor of meeting him.

  2. Blessed John Paul 11 pray for me and for all who are in need of God’s mercy. Thank you. Amen.

  3. Happy to have gone to Mass in Rome with the Pope in 1986. We received the papal blessing for family, and I thank the Pope for his prayers. I ask Blessed Pope John Paul 11 to continue to intercede for my special intentions, especially for loved ones to return to Jesus in the “Sacraments”. Love and prayers to all who love Jesus, Mary and our beloved saintly Blessed Pope John Paul 11. Blessed John Paul 11 pray for us.

  4. I have a good friend ( age 34 yrs) that was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 yrs ago. After a total mastectomy, and hysterectomy(cancer had go to her ovaries) she had been in remission. Back in October, she was having problems with her eyes, after a pet scan, cancer was found in her eyes, brain, liver, and bones. She was in liver failure and given 3 weeks. They immediately started radiation, and then after her round of radiation started chemo. Because her health was declining so rapidly the doctors were considering stopping treatment. After giving her a week off from treatment, she went back in to the doctors, where the did blood work top check her liver levels and white blood count. The liver levels were just about back to normal and the white blood cell count was perfect! Needless to say the doctors had no reason for the vast improvement. Her husband (who at the time was not strong in his faith and had fallen away from the church) said that he knew the reason, PRAYER!
Then I came across this website through my mother in law. The first novena was to Pope John Paul. Needless to say, both she and I started the novena for my friend, and I sent it to several others who I knew would pray it.
My friend recently went in for a check up before her next chemo treatment, the tumors were gone! None on the eyes ( her eyesight had actually improved from before the cancer!), the brain was tumor free as were the kidneys. They are awaiting another PET scan to check the liver and the bones, but given her liver count, they fell pretty sure that they will not find and tumors there as well as her bones. Not only can the NOT find any tumors, but her husband is gaining strength in his faith and their daughter is going to be making her 1st communion soon.
In my heart I know that this turn around in my friend and her husband is because of the intercession of Pope John Paul.
Thank you Pope John Paul for your intercession on behalf of my friend and her family.

  5. My daughter was going through a series of xrays tracking the beginnings of scoliosis. The last results were bad (a 15% curve in her spine). She would go for another xray the next day and if the results were worse we would be forced to start procedures for correcting her spine. I prayed to Pope John Paul II the night before to ask God to cure her and give us good results. She took the xray the next day and with a big smile the doctor told us her spine was as straight as any spine could be( less than 5%curve). This IS my personal miracle that I thank God for every day. Blessed John Paul II is still doing the Lord’s work and I (and my family) are truly blessed.

  6. I never met JPII. I have read many of his papal writings and feel very connected to him. What a beautiful soul. He taught me; what love is and is not, how to honor myself and others, and how to make a family. I heard that he went to confession every day, it made me rethink my own practice and look at sin, as well as the confessional graces, in a new way. The most prominent image is of him coming out the first time. “Do not be afraid”. When I find myself fearing life, choices, whatever, I hear those words and am reminded to turn my fear over to God.

  7. I did not enter the Catholic Church until a year after JPII died. When he died, I was in my “seeking” period and went to church (Protestant) the Sunday afterwards. My friend asked if I went to church because the pope died, and it wasn’t on my mind much, although I did respect him. As I have learned more about him, I am so inspired by his choice to follow God’s call as a fairly ordinary young man. Look what God did with that! Although JPII obviously had no clue who I was, I like to think that his love and prayers for the world might have had something to do with my conversion.

  8. I offer my prayers to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to be presented to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: In today’s Culture of Death, I felt that JPII’s miracle for beatification would be pro-life related. Lo and behold, the nun who was cured of an parkinson’s disease worked in maternity care. Please, bestow the graces on us through JPII’s intercession in another pro-life miracle to bring him to canonization and further the Culture of Life. You know, as our Lord and God, our need for modern models of virtue and holiness. Please bestow on us all happenstance needed for JPII to be brought to canonization by Your Church. Our thanksgivings to you, Our Blessed Mother, and to You Jesus Christ, Lord and God, are immense, and may they be endless as Your Love and Mercy. Amen.

My favorite thing about JPII is his Theology of the Body. I have taken women’s study classes, and classes on human development and family studies that taught that femininity and masculinity only exist as cultural constructs. Thanks to my sister, my brother in law, and Christopher West who helped explain Theology of the Body in layman terms, I see how infinitely special, priceless, and important I am as a woman and my irreplaceable role in the evangelizing of humanity.

What a man! Who else would be so brave and in touch with the world to know that in the midst of the 1970’s sexual revolution, the taboo of sexual material in public religious teachings, let alone papal teachings, had to be humbly casted aside. Thank you Eternal Father, Lord Jesus, and the Holy Ghost for bringing us such a man as pope at such a time and inspiring him in such a way. All praises to the Blessed Trinity!

  9. I like to offer my thanksgiving to Blessed John Paul for his rich contribution to the church and certainly lived his life by the strong faith he professed. Blessed John Paul touched the lifes of people of all ages and had strong affection for our youth and demonstrated by finding the world youth day which has gone from strength to strength and in turn has made a real impact on the faith of our youth. This is of immense importance as the youth are the future of the church and Blessed John Paul recognised this. We continue to pray for his canonisation and I believe it won’t be too long away. Blessed John Paul pray for us.

  10. I am humbled to have such a powerful teacher in my life,,John Paul II touched my heart and my spirit in many ways…but one touched me the most and that is to connect my spirit with GOD…for ever and ever…AMEN. He is my blessing.

  11. I was seventeen when Bl. John Paul was called from his earthly life. I remember seeing a montage of clips from his life on the news, not realising that it was being shown because he had died. When the newsreader appeared directly afterwards, I was hoping that I wouldn’t hear the news I feared. When she said as much, I started crying. I felt like I had lost an uncle. My older sister also cried when she heard the news. Looking back at it now, I realise the greater reality much more than I did during that moment of hearing the news; namely, that God freed him from his suffering by bringing him >through< death to eternal life with him. His death, therefore, while remaining a sad occasion in a way, since he is no longer with us in terms of a body, spirit and soul united, was a joyous event as it meant that God called him home to Himself, and to his deceased family and loved ones in Heaven.

Dear God, thank You for blessing us with Blessed Pope John Paul II; thank You for His love and service to You and for his heroic service to the Church and all the world.
O Holy Mother Mary, please enfold him in your arms now and always.
Blessed JPII, we love you!! :-)

  12. I was in the audience on a bright, sunny day in 1979 when John Paul II came to Philadelphia. I had just had a new baby and hated leaving her, but I could not pass up the opportunity to attend the Mass when my mother-in-law got tickets. I can still picture her running after the motorcade as it was leaving, hoping that he would somehow see her as my sister-in-law and I tried to keep up with her. Thank you Blessed John Paul for Divine Mercy Sunday, for your example of love and forgiveness, and for showing us that every body, even the ill and infirm, has a place in God’s world.

  13. Pope John Paul II was the face of the church nearly all my life and an inspiration to all. I pray for him and thank him for all he did.

  14. Of the many memories I have the first one that made me notice his humble holiness, was his visit to Chicago many, many years ago. The crowds were huge and would not go home. They followed him throughout the day and into the night to the residence of the Archbishop where finally at a very late hour Pope John Paul came out onto the balcony to wave and speak to the people. It was a while to quiet the crowd but he smiled., waved and at the end, as thought talking to a little child, told everyone it is late it is time to go to sleep and made a pillow of his hands together and tilted his head to the side in the impression of sleeping. A caring, loving and holy man had made the first huge impression on my life. Many years later a friend went to Rome and brought me back a rosary blessed by Pope John Paul, a wonderful momento. God bless John Paul II

  15. In behalf of Filipino people, we want to thank you for your PAPACY. Thank you for sharing your light with us. We love you so much….We will pray for you always!!!!

  16. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s. When I was a teen and young adult, I remember being very confused about what the church taught. Blessed John Paul helped to clear the clouds of confusion and now one of the great joys in my life is knowing the great truths taught by the Catholic Church and passing on the faith to my children. Thank you, Blessed John Paul for bringing clarity and truth to us.

  17. In 1987, when Pope John Paul II was in New Orleans, I had the tremendous privilege of being in a rather small room full of educators and principals from Archdiocesan schools. We were in the back, and when he entered, we stood on the chairs to get a better view. My prinicpal tried to get us to get down, but we wouldn’t !! It was too marvelous, actually hard to believe, that we were in the same room with him. My mother was in the hospital and so distraught that she couldn’t go out to the Papal Mass. My being there was a consolation to her. God Bless Him and his beautiful countenance ! I will always think of him as “THE” Pope.

  18. Thank you Lord Jesus!
You gave us a great Pope, in the person of John Paul II. He loved you above everything and everyone “Totus tuus”. He loved thy tender mother and ours as His own Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.
He has done what You asked him with knowledge and dedication. He spread your gospel to the ends of the earth and Thy Divine Mercy. JPII has instituted the Feast, the following SUNDAY after Your resurrection and he is also reminded to you at the end of his earthly mission, the same day. Is not this a BIG sign from Thee telling us that you answered the demand of those who chanted Santo Subito.
Yes, Lord You are great and your wonders are limitless. Thank you for this great servant, Pope John Paul II the Great who served your people at all times and on all occasions.

  20. My favorite memory of John Paul II was when he came in my province of New Brunswick, Canada, I was at home watching T.V. and saw John Paul II saying hello to the crowd. I just started crying and knelt on my knees saying a prayer. I cannot explain why I was crying. He really did have an impact on me especially that I was not that spiritual at the time. Thank you JP II!!!! God Bless!

  21. Dear John Paul II, thank you for all wat u have done.. Now that you are seated at the right hand of our Father.. Pls pray for your children. We really need your prayers.
    Pray for us!!.

  22. Thank you Blessed John Paul II for journeying with us. You might be the only pope that I have seen in person in this lifetime. That was when you visited Davao City. I was there when you said the Holy Mass at the Davao Airport in 2005. It was a very meaningful moment in my life…a chance in a lifetime. Thanks for touching our lives… for making a difference… We love you!… We thank God for your papacy… thanks for reaching out to all the peoples during your journey here on earth… regardless of race, religion or political affiliations. . . Thanks for believing the goodness of every person as manifested in making many persons blessed and saints during your papacy. You are such a great pope! a great messenger of God! BLESSED JOHN PAUL II.

Carrying many causes and concerns during your lifetime here on earth, we are confident to ask for your intercession of all our prayers, concerns and needs to God, the Father, through our Lord Jesus and with the intercession of Mama Mary and inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit… Please intercede for us…for all our prayers and needs: material, spiritual or psychological… for peace, forgiveness and reconciliation of our family members and companions in workplaces and communities and societies who are in conflict. May God also grant us wisdom, humility, courage and perseverance of our family members, friends who are looking for work to earn income for our families, for abundance and security of our job. Intercede for us as we share the mission of Christ especially to those who are suffering due to poverty, sickness and broken marriages.

Intercede for us as we participate in the mission of the JDH (Jesus the Divine Healer) Community… in healing of our family trees … for conversion of sinners,… and salvation of the souls. Please intercede our prayers to all other communities and ministries who are partners of our local churches in spreading the good news of Christ. Amen.

  23. Thank you Lord for giving us a great shepherd in Blessed John Paul the Great for his love and interest in leading and developing our youth!

  24. I was able to see JPII in Toronto, at one of his last Wednesday papal audiences, and, since I was in Europe at the time of his death, I was able to see his body for the final viewing (lying in state). I cannot adequately express what a great grace that was for me. And what an impact that saintly man made on our world and Church! There were so many young people in Rome to honor him when he died, which gave tribute to how much the young people of the world loved JPII, just as he had expressed his love for us.

One of my favorite things that he said was at the Toronto World Youth Day: “You are not the sum total of your faults and failings, but rather of the love that your Heavenly Father has for you.” I have thought about that many times over the years.

Thank you, JPII, for loving us so that we may love Christ more fully. May we be worthy to be called “The JPII generation.” Pray for us!

  25. John Paul ll was an inspiration to all of mankind. He took on communism and and made great strides for his native homeland. HE INSPIRED THE YOUTH and brought many back to the church. he suffered in silence and gave up his suffering to the Lord. A simple holy man Thank you Johns Paul ll and pray for us all

  26. Pope John Paul II was for my generation the only pope that we ever knew and what an awesome pope he was! He was a holy and amazing example to me and millions around the world. He was like a spiritual grandfather to me whom I loved very much. I was very sad when he died but have tried to continue his legacy in my own life (in what little ways I can) and I am very happy to hear of his beautification. I visited the Divine Mercy Shrine (with tens of thousands of others) in Stockbridge, MA in his honor today. God bless you John Paul II. JP 2! We love you!

  27. The pope always reminded me of my dad, Vincent, who is Polish also, in appearance and attitude. I miss my dad very much but now he and Pope John Paul can serve our Lord in heaven with song and praise. Both men were humble servants of God. This is a great day for all…..Pope John Paul II is the saint for all of us. Today is so positive….this is much needed. We are truly blessed.

  28. Dear Blessed Pope John Paul II,

Thank you for your talks/writings about the Theology of the Body which have taught me so much about the meaning of love and the vocations to marriage and religious life.

Thank you for instituting the Feast of Divine Mercy. My soul has been greatly helped by the message of Our Lord to St. Faustina.

Thank you for your words of hope: “Be not afraid!”

Blessed Pope John Paul II, we love you!

  29. Congratulations on the beautification, a step closer to sainthood. The most profound memory I have of Pope John Paul II is when he met with his assasin and forgive him for the attack. What a beautiful act….exactly what Jesus would do. Also what a beautiful day to have the beautification…on the feast of The Divine Mercy. Pray for us and have mercy on us.

  30. Thank you John Paul II . For what you gave the church in your vitality and also in your suffering. May you now continue to pray for us all, that we may live the faith as we have been called to do.

    • I was at Mass and the priest said: My brother priest told me that the papa died, and I said: yes I know that, but He said: not, I mean this one, John Paul I.
then evething started with the election of John Paul II. Today I thanks God for
allow me to be alive and witness The Great Pope we have. Congratulations
John Paul II, you really deserve to be calling Saint.

  31. Dear John Paul II – Thank you for your intercession for our store and for your intercession with our family! – We love you Holy Father continue to intercede for us Blessed John Paul II…..xoxoxo

  32. I remember when Pope John Paul came to St. Joesphs Seminary in yonkers,..my home town i lawyas admire a man who comes from humble beginings and achieves greatness…also his act of forgiveness towards his attacker…Amen…

  33. Dear John-Paul,today was one of the happiest days of my life. Celebrating the feast of Divine Mercy, while at the same time praying for Blessed John-Paul the Great beatification process, that hopping that the call for his Subito will be soon. This is the leader whose charisma captivated the whole world as he strode it like a colossus. He came to my Country Kenya on three occasions. I have named my last born son after him, and his name is not John-Paul, but Pope John- Paul. This is the Man who has been linked to many prophecies, apparitions, and major happenings in the world today. We are yet to hear more about John-Paul even in death. Today in our Church here in Nairobi, we had a wonderful celebration of the feast of Divine Mercy and for the intercession of St. Faustina and Blsd. John-Paul and from the look of things, these two Polish Saints (John-Paul and Faustina) appear to be stealing the limelight from the Church’s roll of Saints by the mere fact that they have become are a celebrities.St. Faustina pray for us , Blessed John-Paul pray for us.

  34. We had been married just 12 months when Pope John -Paul came to Ireland in 1979 .We stayed out all night in limerick .It was unforgetable . Since JP the Great died i have prayed for him at the angelous prayer 2wice daily. My prayers were answered 2day TG. Every friday at 3pm for the past 7years , The DIVINE Mercy is said withfail in The John Paul Oratory in the Cresent Shopping Centre in Limerick ,i started this prayer session when i retired .TG IT continues to grow and grow .Please pray for continued success. God Bless readers.

  35. I remember when he came to Scotland. I was 17 and all the youth went to Edinburgh to see him. When he came into the stadium there was a pipe band leading him in and you could not hear the band for the cheers! What an amazing man. He drew people to him and to God.

  36. Here’s my persoal story about BPJPII:
In Fall/Winter 2010, I experienced a lot of physical pain. I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and Arthritis. I was told that I was going to need surgery for the Spinal Stenosis by one doctor who then referred me to a Spine Speci…alist.. When I went to the Spine Specialist, he told me I didn’t need the surgery yet, which was a relief. HOWEVER, I was like, “Sweet I don’t need surgery yet… But what am I supposed to do about all this pain? I’m missing classes/really behind, I can’t even get out of bed some days.. Am I supposed to live like this until I have the surgery (which will be 6 months-15 years from now)?”

So I prayed to JPII… I haven’t felt pain since.
    Truth.

  37. I will never forget when JPII went to Lima – Perú. My Grandpa took us all to “La plaza San Martin” (St. Martin Plaza), we were dressed up from our souls to head and toes, we were exited or at least my mom and I were!
Mom started to climb the rails of a closed store so she could see better our Holy Father from all that multitude… Grandpa laughed, he thought she was being silly. I was 12 y/o and followed her example, as soon as I started to climb I saw the Papamobil and … HIS EYES, I SAW HIS EYES BUT HE SAW MY SOUL. IT IS LIKE THE PLAZA WAS EMPTY AND THERE WERE STANDING ONLY THE HOLY FATHER RIGHT THERE LOOKING AT ME DEEP IN MY EYES (AS A HUMAN, SOUL AND BODY) BLESSING ME. IT WAS AWESOME! FOR A FEW SECONDS IT WAS JUST HIM AND ME IN A NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION.
When I look back I often wonder how I have that picture in my brain and the feeling that stays with me over this years. How did it feel personal when there where so many people (hundreds) and such a long distance in between us?, better yet how is it that whenever I am troubled he comes back to my memory that moment of peace and joy, and the certain feeling that everything will be okay even if things at the end don’t go my way.
Today with all my heart I can say SANTO SUBITO JPII!,
I love you JPII :-) Gracias por ir a mi Pais y sembrar en mi corazón… (Thanks for going to my coutry and planting in my heart…)

  38. I was only in eighth grade when JPII passed, so I can’t really say that I have any particular memories of his life. However, as a college student who has been researching his famous theology of the body, I am finding myself so thankful for JPII’s wisdom and guidance in such an important matter. I am also so grateful that he gave us Divine Mercy Sunday, which is such a beautiful occasion.

I thank God for His servant, Blessed John Paul the Great, and I thank God for all he has done for Christ’s Church, both during his papacy and before. I thank God for Pope John Paul II’s beatification, and will pray that he is canonized soon.

  39. I pray that John Paul II continues to inspire others to forgive like Jesus taught us. Thank you JP II for being a role model of my faith for most of my life. I love you, please pray for unrepentant souls and those who reject our Lord.

  40. I was a high school student in October 1979, when Pope John Paul II visited Boston. As part of the high school band, we were lined up along the street playing for Him as he slowly drove by. I felt as though His eyes met mine and He blessed me. It was a very moving experience. My father had passed away about 10 months before and I was having a lot of doubts about my faith. Pope John Paul II made me feel that the Holy Spirit was with me and always would be. What an amazing moment that was for me and thousands of others! Thank you for your love and blessings!

  41. Thank you Jesus for our Pope John Paul, I have a photo of our Pope in my living area I turn to him daily in good times and sad, he continues to be a GREAT comfort to me, thank you for always being there for me. I know You hear me and have shared my happiness and my sadness with our Mother and her Son, thank you ,I love you.

  42. My godparents took a trip to Rome when I was in second grade, and they brought back a golden Rosary that had been blessed by the Pope which I received on my First Communion. This is one of my most prized possessions to have something which such a holy man blessed. I’m praying for his canonization.

  43. john paul the year you came to ireland in 1979 i got knocked down and the other day the man that saved me was kiled in a accident

  44. I love Pope John Paul, he was a great man, and a great Pope. I couldn’t wait to go to see him in Germany for World Youth day but he died a few months beforehand and i was so sad but it was still great to see Pope Benedict. I was blessed to travel to Poland to Wadowice to Pope John Paul’s birth home and it was a truely special visit, I loved every inch of it. I love the Pope’s spirituality, he was a man who gave his all for the Church and who gave his all for the people even in times of great trials and tribulations. It is great that he is beatified because even on earth he was already a Saint in every aspect of the Word. i am proud to be a Catholic and I am proud to have had such a great Pope in our midst and i pray to him and for him always and often!

  45. As we welcome Pope John Paul II at the newest of the list of beatified, I find myself recalling two experiences which shaped my understanding of this man-pope and how much he had touched the world.

About a year before he died, I was fortunate to be able to meet him during one of his Wednesday audiences. It was a fluke that allowed me to approach him in the Paul VI Audience Hall, take his hand, kiss his ring and receive a blessing from the man who, for the majority of my life, had lead our Church. What does one say in a moment like this? I said nothing except ‘Thank you, Holy Father.”

I remember waiting to be introduced to the Pope, and as others went up, I noticed for the first time how truly tired this pilgrim pope had become. He was no longer the vibrant man of his early papacy, but truly, a man who had suffered much, and because of his illness in his last year or so, had very little energy to engage with those who came to meet him. And yet, beyond the look of age and wear and tear, there was a spark in his eyes….
    Remembering Pope John Paul II

  46. Blessed JPII brought me back to the church! My family stopped going after my first communion. He died when I graduated from high school. I loved him, and the church, in my heart, and so when I started college in the fall I went back to church and was confirmed. Wearing a medal of him around my neck every day!
    JPII we love you!

  47. What a joyous day to celebrate the beatification of John Paul II on today Divine Mercy Sunday .He was truly a remarkable & holy man of God. His example of God’s love was an inspiration to so many especially to our youth. I had the privilege of being in attendance as he celebrated mass in a huge stadium when he visited NJ. It was so special being in his presence even in such a big place. It was spiritually uplifting & moving. I will never forget waving our white handkerchiefs as he entered. He really answered the call to shepherd the flock & we were blessed to have him lead our church for so many years. May he continue to intercede for us in heaven.

  48. I am so Happy and Blessed that I got to live during his reign. Sadly I was one of those Catholics that really didn’t listen nor pay attention. But I noticed every where he went, people loved him. He accepted everyone, and prayed for everyone. He truly was a Pope for all peoples. It wasnt till almost the very end I truly knew what a great man he was. He was truly the Vicar of Christ. He will be a Saint. I already pray to him. I call him the Pope of Miracles. I know he is. His love especially for Mary is so beautiful. It is amazing what Saints God puts in our lives. I wish I could have met the Holy Father. Even though I didnt pay attention, I did. There was a reverence and respect there. The day he died it was so interesting. I was working at a retail store at the time at the check out counter. All the sudden all my co workers started coming up to me and telling me they were sorry for my loss. They were patting me on the back. They obviously knew I was Catholic.Never experianced that before. I didnt know him but thank you. They were sad too. It was amazing to see. He had gotten to them too with his faith and love , his compassion for everyone but especially for Jesus Christ. He spoke of the good news like we all are suppose to. I could see Pope John being one of the disciples back then if he had lived back then. I would think he would be like John. The Beloved Apostle. I encourage all of you to look for and buy the c.d. called Abba Pater. It is a cool mix of music, The Pope talking and prayer. I dont understand a word he is saying, but I feel his words and passion. I know one of them is the song of the Our Father. Just remember, any of us can have a relationship to Jesus Christ. Let us praise God for today. And remember the words that were first spoken through Jesus Christ ” Do not be afraid” I also like how Pope John said it too ” Do not be afraid, do not be satisfied with mediocrity , put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch” Both men and women, let us Praise God. Blessed Be God Forever!! Sanctus Sanctus Sanctus!!!

  49. I am so happy that our Pope John Paul II is on his way to canonization, because I know he was a saint! He showed us all how to carry our cross while we continue to serve God. I am grateful that he got the young people more involved and interested in our Catholic Church!! My husband and I were blessed to attend all his Holy Week Masses, while visiting Rome 15 years ago — Just to now remember the papal blessings we received at the end of each Mass – from a saint – stirs my soul and lightens my cross. I am sure he is looking out for us still.

  50. My dear Blessed Pope John Paul II….you love your people when you were alive and you love us even more now that you are with our Father in heaven…please pray for us and continue to intercede….we are all blessed to have experienced your amazing grace during your reign as our Papa…..Thank you dear God for Blessed Pope John Paul II beatification today….we love you…

  51. Thank you JPII, for the healing I received in ’06, through your intercessory power. I give glory and praise to the Lord, for the gift of your pontificate to the world!
    Praised be Jesus Christ!

  52. Today is a wonderful day JPII! Thank you for hearing my prayers and interceding.

    JPII WE LOVE YOU!

  53. Papa,
What a gift you are to the whole world! Your life of suffering bore such great fruit of love. How can anyone communicate the infinitude of God’s love with a mere look or a word? I don’t know, but I know you knew. You became transformed into His love. I am so grateful for your witness and your Theology of the Body and all of your encyclicals. Papa, I love you, I thank you, and I beg your prayers for me, my family, the United States and the whole world.

  54. Lord, thank you for the life of Blessed John Paul II, thank you for His example of holiness. He was a herald of hope and freedom from fear. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be with him (and thousands others) for Easter of the Jubilee year 2000. I can’t wait to see what further good works he will do from heaven to keep helping us, his beloved children.

  55. I’m pretty sure John Paul is responsible for 2 of the priestly vocations in our family, my son & my brother. Too long to go into here but, even when he was on earth, he was instrumental in influencing their decisions. But, as JP said at Faustina’s canonization, the Divine Mercy was the pinnacle of his papacy, which is his richest gift to the Church!

  56. I thank God for Pope John Paul II!!! May his words ever stay close to our hearts and lead us closer to Jesus! Pope John Paul II, pray for us.

  57. Thank you Blessed John Paul 11 for showing your love and teaching us how to love our brothers and sisters, for showing to us Jesus through your love and care for all people. Thank you for showing us how to suffer with love and to bear all the infirmaties of old age and sickness. I will never forget that day in St. Peter’s Basilica when I received the unexpected gift from God of meeting you and receiving your blessing. Thank you for having faith in our youth and showing them your confidence in their goodness. Thank you for all the miles you traveled to show your caring for your flock. We were truly graced and blessed by your life. You will always remain in the hearts of a great number of people.

  58. When pope John Paul ll came to St. Louis, I was very fortunate to be in the front line when he entered the arena. His physical appearance really touched me. He seemed so very humble. He also showed signs of physical discomfort, but that did not stop him from celebrating Mass and giving a most inspiring homily. I remember feeling in awe just to be in his presence. May he look down on us and pray for us.

  59. Pope John Paul II was a gentle Giant.  A Pope that was “needed” for those times.  There was no mistake when God led him to the Papacy…..   When I saw how he carried the crucifix as he walked wherever he was, he WAS walking with Christ and FOR Christ.  It made me cry because I knew he really was THE Pope for God.  And most of all, a Leader for God.

I cried when he passed and I felt such an emptiness and a longing for another JP II. Perhaps because I grew up with him and felt he was my earthly father and didn’t want to see
    him leave.

His smile was meaningful and his love for his people was endless.

How appropriate to celebrate his beatification today on Divine Mercy Sunday.  He was an advocate for sister Faustina and Divine Mercy before he became Pope only to canonize her a Saint and Gave us the Decree and plenary indulgence for The Divine Mercy as our Pope. What a blessing for us Catholics to receive such a gift.

I will be attending mass today and celebrating this day. I tried very hard to promote this to all Catholics I came across and I must say how sad my heart is to know that soooooooo many  catholics do not know or knew of this because of ignorance or the lack of promotion on their parish.  To those catholic churches that do not celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday have done a great, great, great, great diservice to many souls that Christ wants to touch. A great diservice.   I pray they wake up and lead Christs’ Sheep straight to Him.

“To know Jesus, is to know your faith” (Fr Corapi)

Many priests should heed this quote:
“Be filled with Jesus in order to impart Jesus to others. In so doing you will be lifting up the world in the most important way possible through the
salvation of souls.”. ( Fr Corapi)

“For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world”

Thank you, Pope John Paul for your beautiful papacy.  And thank YOU for making Divine Mercy possible.

  60. I love the Pope, thou I have not seen him in person but in my heart he is great pope,I am blessed to be able to go to Rome “WACOM”.and was able to see his tomb, I pray that the soonest he will be canonized to become a saint.I love his picture with Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Two most important people in the history.Happy Mercy Sunday and Viva Papa,Beatified today,God bless to all.

  61. I saw Pope John Paul II when he came to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1986. It was the only time I have ever seen a pope in person. How thrilling it was when his ‘popemobile’ passed so close to me, and how peaceful I felt during the mass he celebrated there with such a large crowd. Thank you, Blessed John Paul II for shepherding our flock for all those years. And you are still watching over us as we ask your intercession for all our earthly needs.

  62. I was born a month before Our Holy father Pope Jonh Paul II became Pope. So until he died he was the only Pope I ever Knew. He was a fabulous writer. He wrote a book called the Jewelers shop, a wonderful book about marriage. He lived such an interesting and beautiful life and was an excellent example of how we should live.
Thank you Lord Jesus for giving us such a giving and prayerful and holy Pope in John Paul II. God Bless him and God Bless Our Holy Father Benedict the XVI. jmj

  63. You are my hero blessed JPII. You guide me on how love God and each other. And gave us examples. Of how to forgive people who hurt me. Thanks blessed John. Paul II

  64. JPII came to the Philippines twice (or was it three times?). He came to about fifty feet away from my group as he passed by in his pope mobile. Everyone was in tears and His Holiness gave his blessings to our suffering country. His blessings and prayers are with us, most especially now that he is with the Father. The country has a very special place in his heart. JPII has a sanctuary in every Filipino Catholic’s heart. Yes, he radiates God’s love and the country was most fortunate to have been visited by him. Thank you JPII. Continue interceding for the Filipino people … that we may be one.

  65. Pope John Paul II visited the Philippines twice, the 2nd was the World Youth Day. I have a pictured of him framed on top of our bed. I pray everyday a PRAYER TO IMPLORE FAVORS THROUGH THE INTERCESSION OF THE SERVANT OF GOD POPE JOHN PAUL II. We thank our Blessed Trinity for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II & for allowing the tendeness of our Fatherly care, the glory of the Cross of Christ & the splendor of the Spirit of love, to shine through Him. He has given us a living image of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, & has shown us the holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life & is the way of achieving eternal communion with Him.Through the intercession of our Lord & according to His will, the graces we implore, hoping that he will soon be numbered among Your saints.

  66. Thank You Blessed John Paul you gave us more saints like yourself to help us see how to love God and eachother.

  67. I saw Pope John Paul II at a papal audience in Rome when I was 14. At the time I was still young and not deeply involved in my faith, and JP II’s health was already deteriorating (ca 2003), but when he came out onto the stage, he was truly *glowing*. The sight of him brought me to tears, and I know exactly what people mean when they talk about the moving effect he had on whole crowds. He radiated God’s love, and I will always remember the blessed experience of seeing him live.

  68. One of my favorite memories is that when I was growing up, every weekend I would go to Mass with my family. During the Liturgy of the Eucharist, the priest prays for our Pope. Back then he would say “for John Paul our Pope… Daniel our Bishop…” etc.

Well, every time I sat next to my Dad at Mass he would elbow me a little when the priest prayed for “John Paul our Pope.”

Obviously, that’s nothing the Pope did himself, but it always kept me aware of the Holy Father and caused me to take interest in him and my faith as I got older.

I pray that JP II will be canonized soon because he was a very holy and good Pope.

    JP II We Love You!

    • Thank you JohnPaulII for giving our dying world Divine Mercy when it needs it most. Please with Divine Mercy’s help open the eyes of your priests here in New England who have not gotten the message of Divine Mercy and think it’s a nice little devotion to open their hearts and minds to God’s Merciful Love to the ones who need it the most. Amen

    • I could muster some profound words to pay tribute to the life of such an exemplary human being but I would only be repeating what has already been said. All I want to do is give him some simple recognition. Blessed John Paul II is one of a few persons responsible for me converting to the Catholic faith. Reading his writings every now and then at a small bookstore during a break in my daily hectic schedule, as insignificant as that sounds, was a life changing experience. The butterfly effect this change in my life has had on others is immeasurable. One could memorize everything there is to know about the Christian faith and culture but if no thought is given to the delivery of those messages then one is not living the disciple mandate of being “the salt of the earth…light of the world.” What a poverty it would be to possess all of that light but hide it under a basket of disregard for its delivery to those without it. Blessed John Paul II, thank you for your example.
