The next novena we’re going to pray as a community is one of our favorites, it’s the St. Therese of Lisieux Novena!
Pope Pius X called St. Therese “the greatest saint of modern times.” She’s well known for her “little way” spirituality of doing small, ordinary things that you do every day with extraordinary love. She wrote in her autobiography, “What matters in life is not great deeds, but great love.”
We will start praying this novena next Tuesday, September 22nd.
St. Therese suffered a great deal in her life. She lost her mom when she was a young girl. One of her older sisters became like a second mother to her, and St. Therese “lost” her when her sister entered a convent. St. Therese also suffered from chronic illness and depression. Through it all, she continued to look towards Jesus.
She’s a great example for all of us — a reminder to cling to Jesus through whatever each of us may be going through right now. Let’s look to Jesus!

Lord please help me to pass my AANP exam this October. I am being studying but nothing is going in. I sacrifice my job to study but distraction and lack of contraction. I never achieve my goal plan for the day. Please God takes control of my study. I pray for a reconciliation with my husband, and for all my brothers and sisters in Christ who are experiencing marital difficulties. We have not been getting on and I’m finding it difficult, if not impossible, to truly forgive, move on and love him.

Pray for the end of Covid..pray for the young families I know who have a parent with cancer and have lost a parent to cancer already. Pray for our country this election year for a pro life president and our religious freedom. Pray for my depression dealing with family members living with me after being widowed for 19 years.

Please help me heal after a break up from a man that hurt me tremendously. I thought I would be with him forever. And even though I now know he’s done very bad things, I still want him to answer me and be kind to me so I can get my things from my former home. I still want him to wish he hadn’t ripped our family apart. I want him to miss me and to want to return to me. I know this is only because I’m trauma bonded to him and my former home and to my stepson. But it’s been so incredibly hard and shocking. Before I met him I had prayed so intently, to finally meet my husband. I have learned so much from his narcissistic behaviors of being dishonest, and gaslighting, and his cycles of praise and punishment of neglect, his discard, then hoover, then quick and brutal discard again, then his abusive silent treatment. I loved them both unconditionally, and thought we were a family. Please help them both, they have issues where they close their hearts to love. I see now that they aren’t capable of reciprocating my love and commitment. Please help me heal. Please, this time, may I really find my future husband. I now know how to not ignore serious negative behaviors that I might see in a person. I now know not to accept being lied to and to trust my intuition when I feel that someone is being unfaithful. Please I hope I finally am sent the best man who is full of integrity, faith, and virtues. I hope I find him soon, I’m almost 52. I finally have the self esteem to not stay with anyone that is in need of much emotional healing and maturity. I am devastated and praying to you, Saint Therese. Please help me, please.
