A Short Guide for Catholics Coping with the Coronavirus

If churches around you have closed or canceled public Masses and if you are spending more time at home we wanted to share a few online options with you so that you can still watch Mass — and have a fruitful Lent.

Here are a few options for you:

+ You can watch Mass on EWTN’s live feed here. It looks like they have Mass at 8 am EST and 12 pm EST on Sunday. Daily Mass throughout the rest of the week is at the same time. Here’s their schedule. For Mass in ASL or with an Interpreter, please look at the very bottom of this post.

+ You can also make an act of Spiritual Communion by saying a prayer like this one: “My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.”

+ You can find a live broadcast of perpetual Adoration here.

+ And you can watch, listen or read through the video presentations of our online Lenten Retreat here.

Here are some of the presentations that might be especially helpful right now:

Hope in a Faithful God

St. Joseph – Protector and Father

Overcoming Lies of the Devil, and

The Faith and Doubt of St. Thomas – a guided-meditation.

Finally you can join me (Annie) in praying the Rosary here.

We are praying for you and your intentions during this time. St. Joseph, pray for us!

God bless you!

  44. Thank you for this information. I will be unable to attend Mass, but I received an email from EWTN this morning. And a friend’s church streams there Masses. I was pretty down when I realized I wouldn’t be able receive Communion. I’m doing much better now.

  45. I thank you so very much for this information
since I will no doubt be at home
How wonderful letting one know n making the
Spiritual Communion Prayer available as well
Appreciate so much for all you do
    God Bless Us All

  46. Thank you for all this information, it is very helpful (and of course for the Novenas). Both myself and husband have cancer and are in the ‘at risk’ group and receiving this info has set my mind at rest, as we did not want to miss Mass but at least we can use the links you have provided. God bless you both and your loved ones.

  47. Thank you for the opportunity and options to keep our faith healthy as we all face this worldwide crisis. God Bless 🙏👍☀️❤️

  48. Dear Holy Trinity please send us a cute for this Coronavirus and other contagious diseases. Please help our economy recover. Please have mercy on the whole world. I love you Lord.

  49. Thank you ! This is a huge help! I am not sick but I live alone and family is far away. Neighbors are nice but a chitchat here and there is no replacement for the Mass! I have already been in adoration in front of the Monstrance online. Not quite the same, but at least it is something. God is not limited when we have our hearts open.
It will be good to experience mass online. I have done that to some extent already as I moved from NJ to CT and 2 of my NJ churches livestream their Masses. I MISS them a LOT so I am deeply grateful that I can do the Mass with them at least like this. The love for them is there.

  50. Thank you so much for sending this out! These resources are so valuable to Catholics who long to spend time with our Lord but in the safety of their homes. I have passed this along to friends and family =) God bless you guys and stay well!

  51. Thank you, thank you for all this information. We will need this during the weeks ahead. Much appreciated.

  52. I was literally *just* thinking about this. All Masses in my state have been cancelled. We are still going to go to the Church tomorrow, however, and will pray and adore the Blessed Sacrament. Thankfully, our church will be open. For anyone at a completely closed parish, you can always stand as close to the building as possible and pray. I’m a big believer in showing up for Christ instead of staying home. (But I respect the option to do so.)

  53. Thank you so very much for your wonderful suggestions Im sure I will use all of them during this stressful time I love the St Joseph Novena

  54. Thank you so much for this website and the many beautiful novenas. I have had many answered prayers and a few miracles. But today, my son reached out to see if we were healthy and staying well. He and his family have been estranged from the rest of the family.
My heart filled with joy. Maybe it’s a start for healing and forgiveness.

  55. Thanks you,Annie, and John Paul too for so thoughtfully providing us with an alternate way of joining in Mass at this troubled time when we need Mass more than ever.
God is still in charge of of all and Our Lord will lead us through this. Let’s pray for absolute trust in Him.

  56. St. Ignatius in Baltimore also has a live Radio Mass at 9 am, for those without cable. It streams online.

  57. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in giving us sites to use while we not able to attend church. Great helps to keep our faith strong and growing.
